Hawaiian to boost transpacific capacity

Hawaiian Airlines has announced the addition of extra capacity on several key routes for the summer months, to cater for peak season demand.

Options on the carrier's most popular route - between Honolulu and Los Angeles - will be stepped up to 21 flights each week from June 22 through August 16. Year-round flights between Honolulu and Seattle will also become daily from June 22.

In addition, a third weekly service will link Honolulu and Pago Pago in American Samoa from May 30 through August 22.

The extra daily Los Angeles connection will depart the International Airport at 10.30am, reaching Hawaii at 1pm. From Honolulu, an additional link will leave at 10.05pm, touching down at 6.15am the following morning.

For access to Hawaii from Seattle, an extra flight will leave at 8.05am, reaching the island at 10.50am. In the opposite direction, a 12.25pm service will touch down at Seattle-Tacoma International at 9pm.

The seasonal service to American Samoa will leave Hawaii each Wednesday at 7.45am, reaching Pago Pago by 12.10pm. The third-weekly return leg leaves again at 1.45pm on the same day, touching down in Honolulu at 7.55pm.

All times are local.

The expanded transpacific capacity will be made possible by Hawaiian's order of four new Boeing 767s.
