Miles, marvelous miles: Alaska and Horizon double 'em up
Like airline miles? Like them a lot? If you're a member of Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan and are traveling to or from any of Alaska Airlines' or partner Horizon Air's California destinations, you can rake in Double Miles through April 4.
To do that you'll have to register online at www.alaskaair.com, and complete your trips by April 4.
Alaska and Horizon serve a slew of California cities: Burbank (BUR), Eureka/Arcata (ACV), Fresno (FAT), Long Beach (LGB), Los Angeles (LAX), Oakland (OAK), Ontario (ONT), Orange County (SNA), Palm Springs (PSP), Redding (RDD), Reno (RNO), Sacramento (AMF), San Diego (SAN), San Francisco (SFO), San Jose (SJC), and Santa Barbara (SBA).
Horizon launches flights to Sonoma County/Santa Rosa March 20.
A few details on this deal. Again, register online. That registration has to be complete before your first qualifying flight. Double Miles are valid only on qualifying flights paid, marketed, and operated by Alaska or Horizon to or from any California city they serve. That means that Double Miles apply just to flight segments where one of the carriers' California cities is the origin, or the destination, of your journey.
One more thing: Double Miles don't count toward elite status in the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan.
