AA connects Austin and Seattle

American Airlines has announced that it will become the first airline to offer a daily nonstop service between Austin, Texas, and Seattle.

The carrier will provide one flight a day in each direction using MD80 aircraft, which have 136 seats including 16 in First Class.

Flight 1893 will depart Austin at 8:15am and touch down in the Pacific Northwest at 10:25am. Returning, Flight 1960 will take off from Seattle at 3:55pm and land in the Texan city at 9:55pm.

The addition of the route brings the number of nonstop connections provided by American, American Eagle, and AmericanConnection from Austin to eight. Six nonstop connections now serve Seattle.

Flights from Austin to Raleigh/Durham and St. Louis have also been upgraded to larger MD80 jets for one of the two daily flights to each destination, the airline announced.
