EarlyReturns takes top frequent flier honors

Frontier Airlines' EarlyReturns loyalty program was honored as the frequent flier plan of choice at this year's prestigious Freddie Awards.

At the 19th annual prize-giving ceremony in Virginia, Denver-based Frontier picked up the Best Award and top accolade for Program of the Year in the Americas.

Representing the opinions of early 450,000 international travelers, the InsideFlyer magazine ballot forms the basis of the most comprehensive consumer-nominated honors in the industry.

Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan scooped three awards: it was identified for its leading Web site, its approach to member communication, and named the Best Elite-Level program for the second year running.

The frequent-flier program also finished second in the Best Award, Program of the Year, and Best Award Redemption categories.

"These honors reflect the unique relationship our employees build with our most frequent customers and the innovations we offer - such as one-way awards - to make travel easier and more flexible," said Alaska's Rick Rasmussen.

Fliers voted Southwest Airlines' Rapid Rewards the best for award redemption, and acknowledged the customer service provisions with Midwest Airlines' Midwest Miles program.

The US Airways’ Dividend Miles plan won out in the Best Bonus Promotion category.
