Kingfisher joins the WorldPerks network
India's fastest growing carrier, Kingfisher Airlines, has joined Northwest Airlines' WorldPerks loyalty program.
The partnership will allow frequent Northwest fliers to earn and redeem miles on flights to, from, and within India on Kingfisher's young fleet of Airbus jets.
Other benefits of the latest WorldPerks expansion include swifter connections between the airlines, electronic ticketing, and simpler check-ins, plus access to Indian airport lounges for WorldClub and World Business Class passengers.
"We believe the expanded travel opportunities Kingfisher presents will be popular award destinations with our WorldPerks members and will provide added value to the entire WorldPerks program," said Northwest's Jim Cron.
The WorldPerks partner network already includes Midwest Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Eagle, Japan Airlines, Kenya Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Jet Airways, Copa Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Air Europa, Horizon Air, and Alaska Airlines, among others.
Northwest has flown to India since 1997, thanks to its joint venture partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. The Minnesota-based carrier currently offers 18 flights per week from the US to the world's second-most populous country, via Amsterdam.
