Air Canada flies to Vegas

Non-stop flights from Ottawa to Las Vegas will begin in September, Air Canada has just announced.

The year-round, twice-weekly flights will make it easier for residents of the Canadian capital to enjoy the glitz and glamour, and means that Air Canada now flies to Vegas from seven cities.

Daniel Shurz, Vice-President of Network Planning, said: "Air Canada is the leading airline in the transborder market, flying more often between Canada and the US than any other carrier.

"We are further consolidating that position by adding a year-round, twice-weekly service between Ottawa and Las Vegas, one of the most popular destinations in the United States for entertainment, meetings and conventions."

The service begins on September 6 and offers 8pm flights out of Ottawa on Thursdays and Sundays, using Airbus A319 aircraft.

Air Canada recently announced a new partnership with environmental organization Zerofootprint, which will give customers the chance to offset the carbon emitted by their flight.

Twice a week! Whoop-de-do! Hardly worth the effort. What's wrong with twice a day ? And the days and times are rather useless as well.
