Later this year: only Vancouver to Yellowknife nonstops

Yellowknife (YZF) is one of the more remote enclaves in North America. Airplanes are one of the prime ways to get there. By year's end you'll be able to do the trip non-stop from Vancouver (YVR). That's when Air Canada Jazz launches daily nonstop service on the route. It will run December 1 through April 2008, and a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ regional jet will make the journey.

Air Canada Jazz is betting the new route works. Daily service will depart Vancouver at 12:15pm each day, and arrive Yellowknife at 3:45 p.m.

The return trip leaves YZF at 9:05am, and gets to the gate at YVR at 10:40am. The timing of this schedule is particularly good for fliers who want to connect onward to Tokyo (NRT), Osaka (KIX), and to points within British Columbia.

Air Canada Jazz already serves Yellowknife nonstop from Edmonton (YEA) and Calgary (YYC).
