September song - discounts from trio of gateways

As the summer travel season heats up, it's getting tougher to find close-in discount airfares to Europe. It's understandable, but late summer is still doable - specifically September. Consider Delta Air Lines’ trio of deals to Ireland, Scotland, and England, that begin as low as $229 one-way.

To land one of these deep discount airfares act fast. Book and buy no later than July 10. Do that and you can fly out from September 1 through 30. Fewer crowds, cheaper rates.

The discount airfares quoted below are good for Monday through Wednesday travel, on off-peak days.

The quotes are one-way, and you'll have to do a round-trip purchase to get the fare. Stay over at least one Saturday night. Neither taxes nor fares are included. They're extra.

All that said, here's what Delta is offering:

- Atlanta (ATL) to Edinburgh (EDI) $349
- Cincinnati (CVG) to London Gatwick (LGW) $339
- New York Kennedy (JFK) to Shannon (SNN) $229
