Air Canada bars pets The Canadian flag carrier will not permit any pets aboard its domestic flights from Thursday, July 15. The airline says this is due to more passengers and “a desire to improve customer service”.

However, Midwest Airlines reaffirmed its commitment to supporting passengers with pets, by flying two ambassadors for the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge from Fort Lauderdale to New York. Mako, an Australian shepherd dog, and Nemo, a Jack Russell terrier, were accompanied by their trainer. Nemo sat under his trainer’s seat, but Mako had a seat all to himself.
