20th anniversary for Continental OnePass

Continental Airlines will launch a number of promotions to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its frequent-flier program.

OnePass was formed in 1987, when Continental and Eastern Airlines merged their frequent-flier programs, and has 32 million members, who can accrue miles with more than 100 partners.

To commemorate the program's success, Continental is holding an anniversary auction throughout July, at continental.com.

OnePass members can bid for a variety of exclusive prizes, such as a 14-day Osaka-Hong Kong cruise, a luxury Hawaii vacation package, suites at Yankees and Astros games, and a plasma television.

The airline also marks One Pass's anniversary by awarding 20,000 additional miles to OnePass members on 20 randomly selected flights.

Mark Bergsrud, Senior Vice-President of Marketing Programs and Distribution at Continental, said that the anniversary promotions are "a fun way to show our OnePass members how much we appreciate their business".

Continental was recently named the World's Most Admired Airline by FORTUNE magazine, a title it has held for four years running.
