JetBlue and Midwest rewarded for customer satisfaction
For comfortable flights and great in-flight refreshments, JetBlue and Midwest Airlines would seem to be the carriers of choice.
The two airlines have topped the latest ratings from Consumer Reports, with 23,000 readers relating their experiences on 31,455 domestic flights.
JetBlue and Midwest were found to score higher than 16 other US airlines in overall satisfaction, with the survey covering a number of factors, including seating comfort, on-time performance, in-flight, and check-in ease.
Greg Daugherty, Executive Editor of Consumer Reports commented on the results, which showed airlines relatively new to the industry scoring noticeably higher than their established counterparts in terms of customer satisfaction.
"Some of the smaller, newer airlines seem to be giving the big ones a run for their money with easier check-in, roomier seating, more attentive cabin service, and better on-time performance," Daugherty said.
A follow-up survey revealed that the much-publicized weather-related chaos that plagued JetBlue in February had little effect on overall customer satisfaction.
