Big Sky Airlines to return
Big Sky Airlines has confirmed that it will begin service at Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, in southeast Missouri, from early November.
Fred deLeeuw, President of Big Sky, told the airport board that the airline will initially offer two daily flights to Cincinnati, OH, reports the KFVS12 TV network. "We were awarded the project in March, and wanted to begin service in July, but have been trying to find pilots to service the airport," deLeeuw said.
The official start date for the flights is expected to be announced within the next fortnight, and will represent the first passenger service out of Cape Girardeau since March.
RegionsAir had been operating a connection to St Louis, but was forced to end the service by the Federal Aviation Administration, after concerns over its pilot training practices.
Bruce Loy, Airport Manager, told KFVS12: "We've had a long drought. Fred said it doesn't do any good to have an air passenger airport without any air passenger service."

This will be a tremendous service it seems to me. I am a retired P&G employee and have traveled many times to Cincinnati via St. Louis commercial vrs. a charter jet service that used to go to and from Cinc. regularly. The difference was like five hours time counting the drive to STL, and the wait there. It also turned out to be cheaper, because of the heavy use. More power to you - this is a good thing!
