New parking options at Louisville – the Cincinnati factor

Louisville International (SDF) is a fascinating airport. One of its main draws is discount airline Southwest, which attracts fliers from as far away as Cincinnati (CVG), where the fares can be comparatively high.

To better accommodate local and out-of-town customers, Louisville now sports a new credit-card only parking lot. It’s located just east of the terminal. The credit-card only feature makes for a fast exit, one that provides an end-run around the toll plaza. This lot doesn’t offer shuttle bus service to the terminal, but it really doesn’t have to. The passenger terminal is within walking distance.

If you are using the toll plaza the experience should be better now that SDF has added three express lanes. They’re fitted with self-service payment machines that let you pay by credit or debit card.

Paying by credit card is not only fast, if you’re traveling on business it’s a great way to record the transaction for tax purposes.
