Jet Airways' New York-India flight takes off
The latest service from Jet Airways, connecting New York's John F Kennedy airport with New Delhi, has been launched.
The service is the third-daily service between the U.S. and India from the Indian carrier. The new route flies via Brussels and offers Economy, Premier, and First-Class seats.
The first Jet Airways New York to Indira Gandhi International Airport flight left JFK at 7:55pm on Sunday evening, arriving in Brussels at 9:30am the following day and reaching the Indian capital at 12:10am.
The inaugural flight was marked with a multi-faith prayer service at JFK's Terminal 8.
Return flights from India to New York will depart at 2:45am, landing at Brussels International Airport at 7:20am. The second leg of the flight will leave Belgium at 9:20am and reach JFK at 12:45pm.
Jet Airways has said that arrivals at Brussels "will be synchronized in order to provide passengers a seamless transfer".
The airline currently offers flights to Mumbai and Chennai, as well as services to Toronto and Newark.
