Flight advice texts from US Airways

US Airways has launched a new text message service for passengers. Forming part of ongoing technological advancements, the airline will extend the text flight information service introduced this summer.

Customers will now be able to sign up for Dividend Miles, the US Airways frequent-flyer program, via text message. By texting their flight number to the TEXTUS number (839887) customers can get real-time flight information, including departure times and gate numbers.

Travis Christ, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at US Airways, said: "Through our innovative text program, US Airways has found another way to utilize technology for increased customer service.

"Also, by giving our customers the ability to sign up for Dividend Miles through their cell phones, our loyalty program can be instantly rewarding."

Passengers choosing to enroll on Dividend Miles by text can use the TEXTUS number to join the program on the day of travel and earn miles for the flight.
