Frontier ups flights from Denver, but axes others

Frontier Airlines will increase the capacity and frequency of several services ahead of the launch of its new subsidiary Lynx Aviation.

An extra daily flight to Atlanta, from the airline's hub at Denver, will be added on January 18, 2008, with increased frequencies also planned for flights to Indianapolis, Oklahoma, and Seattle, among others.

Sean Menke, President and Chief Executive of Frontier, said: "The schedule changes we are making today are focused on leveraging the strong demand we have seen in these markets.

"The additional Denver capacity will be critical to the start-up of Lynx in mid-December as it will allow us to protect the current traffic volume while providing the greatest potential for system contribution from connecting traffic via Lynx."

As part of changes at the airline, services from San Jose and Sacramento to Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta will be discontinued on January 7.

Flights between Memphis and Fort Lauderdale, Denver and Guadalajara, and from Memphis to Las Vegas and Orlando will also be discontinued.
