And soon there will be 40 – DFW’s international inspiration

Despite domestic cutbacks, airlines have been expanding their international routes vigorously. One of the prime beneficiaries is Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW), the world’s third-busiest airport.

Come April 7, the mid-cities megaport adds its 40th nonstop international destination, this as American Eagle launches flights to the petro-centered city of Tampico (TAM) down on the Gulf of Mexico.

Tampico makes for 15 nonstop Mexican destinations from DFW, still behind rival Bush Houston Intercontinental (IAH), but not bad at all. DFW has added seven international flights over the past 12 months alone.

Looking to book the new Tampico flight? An American EMB-145 fitted for 44 seats will make the journey. Reservations are already being accepted.
