United Airlines offers Olympic promotion

United Airlines has teamed up with Visa to offer passengers several promotions to coincide with the Beijing Olympic Games.

The "strength in numbers" initiative will see 8,888 customers granted the chance to win a Visa Olympic Games-themed gift card worth $88.

The main prize is four trips for two passengers to travel with United to China for the sporting event.

To enter the competition, Mileage Plus members must book a flight online at united.com using a Visa card and travel before March 31.

Dennis Cary, Senior Vice-President of Marketing for United, said: "To celebrate more than 20 years of both flying to China and serving as the official airline sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Team, we are offering our customers a chance to experience the good fortunes that the number eight can bring."

United Airlines has provided air travel to the country's Olympic team since 1980.
