US Airways to roll out self-tagging in Montreal

US Airways passengers flying back to the U.S from Canada will be able to save time at the airport by tagging their own baggage.

The carrier will introduce self-tagging at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau next month.

Montreal is the only Canadian airport where passengers can self-tag bags for flights into America.

Antoine Rostworrowski, from the airport told USA Today that since the system was trialled in 2004 it has proved "increasingly popular" with customers.

There are currently 70 self-service baggage tag kiosks in the airport, which have previously only been used by Air Canada passengers after the Canadian national airline became the only carrier to allow self-tagging.

Rostworowski suggested that two other U.S. airlines would add self-tagging for flights from Montreal at some point in the spring.
