Continental offers discount payment option - Bill Me Later

Last year, Cheapflights Flight News reported on a move in the airline industry to offer flyers more payment options - aside from plastic. Credit cards often entail extra costs for airlines, and in light of skyrocketing fuel costs, carriers are eager to cut costs.

Now comes word that Continental Airlines is offering flyers who pay with Bill Me Later $20 off the total cost of their airfare.

That discount is available either via an online booking at continental.com, or through Continental reservations. The key proviso is time: you've got to book by April 23.

Bill Me Later is sweetening the deal by letting flyers make no payments for 90 days, and no payments for six months on airfare purchases of $1,500 or more. However, you can only use the $20 off option once.

Bill Me Later says its business proposition is that consumers can pay for purchases conveniently and securely online and via phone without having to provide credit-card information.
