Delta puts its money where your mouse is – best fare pledge

There’s nothing flyers hate more than uncertainty – making it to the airport in time, clearing security in time, ensuring you booked the lowest fare on time. While what we’re about to tell you doesn’t get you to the airport, or through security, any quicker but it could save you some money.

Delta Air Lines has rolled out what it’s called its “Best Fare Guarantee”. The idea is that you’ll always find Delta’s lowest available fares at its Web site. If you find it for less on another travel Web site, DL will refund the ticket cost, or offer the fare difference plus a $100 travel voucher. The airline will let you cancel your itinerary directly at Delta.com. Your credit card will be refunded for the full purchase – no questions asked, and you’ll get a confirmation of that refund.

Alternatively, Delta will give you the fare difference, and a $100 voucher for future travel on Delta. The lower fare must be for precisely the same Delta flight - flight number, date, cabin, booking class and flight time. It’s got to match (save the fare, of course) the original itinerary purchased at Delta.com. The difference in total fares has got to be equal to or greater than $10.

If all those things apply to the fare you found on another Web site, submit your claim to Delta by midnight the same day as the ticket was purchased at Delta.com. When Delta validates the difference, you get an e-mail confirmation of the amount you’ll be refunded, and an electronic $100 travel voucher.
