Family and friends, sun and surf – AirTran’s getaways
People travel for leisure for a number of reasons: to see loved ones, long-time friends, or just to kick back. Whatever your reason for getting away, AirTran Airways is offering deep discount airfares just now – with one-way rates beginning at $59.
Book and buy fast, no later than April 8. Then you’ve got a big travel window – all the way through the summer and to the edge of the Thanksgiving Holiday season (November 12). The main adjustment you’ll have to make — at least to get AirTran’s deepest discount airfares — is traveling on off-peak days (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday). Peak prices (although they’re still discounted) apply on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Don’t look for a Sunday discount. The seventh day is often the heaviest travel day of the week, and airlines are loath to discount those seats very often.
All the discount airfares quoted here are for off-peak travel. They do not require a round-trip purchase, but do entail a ten-day advance buy. Neither taxes nor fees are included.
