DFW finalizes plans for Open Skies celebrations
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is making final plans for the upcoming Super Sunday celebrations. The airport is continuing with the countdown, launched last month, to the day when new transatlantic services start as part of the U.S.-EU Open Skies agreement.
As part of this Sunday's celebratory event, passengers will be treated to an international food festival and a full day of entertainment.
Travelers on the first inbound and outbound flights with American Airlines, British Airways and KLM Royal Dutch will be able to taste the cuisine of their destination and meet Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert as well as Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief at Terminal D.
A "shower of affection" will also take place, with each inaugural international arrival greeted by the DFW Fire Department.
Jeff Fegan, Chief Executive at the airport, said: "The global changes that take affect this Sunday will enable business and vacation travelers to choose new nonstop service to London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol and seamless connections to more than 200 additional locations across Europe, Africa and India."
