JetBlue launches 'green' NYC initiative
JetBlue Airways is to host an event in New York City to raise awareness of environmental issues.
The airline has joined forces with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and the New York Restoration Project's MillionTreesNYC campaign to plant 250 trees in East Harlem on April 19.
JetBlue's "One Thing That's Green" project will take place at Thomas Jefferson Park on the corner of 114th and Pleasant Avenue with flowers and trees planted along ten blocks as part of the awareness event. Icema Gibbs, Director of Community Relations for JetBlue Airways, commented: "Each one of us, whether an individual or a corporation, can do at least one thing that's green to help our environment.
"This event will serve as a commitment by JetBlue and our 12,000 crewmembers to make environmental initiatives a priority in our business and our homes."
Volunteers will be divided into small teams to plant the trees for the planting day later this month, with prize giveaway and entertainment also on the agenda.

Dear Ms Gibbs and JetBlue Airways management,
On behalf of BBS Pro Net we commend JetBlue Airways and its management team and staff for its proactive movement to help preserve our environment. We too are taking measures of our own to implement programs for corporations that make a difference assisting other corporations like yourself to Go Green with environmentally friendly products. Keep up the good work and we will look forward to hearing more from JetBlue and your environmental sustainability efforts.
