Southwest best airline for customer service
Southwest Airlines has topped a consumer poll to find the carrier with the best reputation for customer service.
The airline came ahead of JetBlue and American Airlines, with an average customer service score of 7.27 out of 10.
Consumers in the RealPeopleRatings.com survey, carried out by Corporate Research International, gave JetBlue 7.08 points and rated American Airlines customer services levels at 6.88 on the scale of 1 to 10.
Continental Airlines took fourth place with a score of 6.80, Delta Air Lines came fifth in 6.79 and Northwest was voted into sixth position on 6.73 points.
More than 2,300 people took place in the survey, which charted the performance of some of the nation's biggest companies over the first three months of this year.

Who cares about customer service if Southwest is not maintaining its aircraft?! I'd rather they get me to my destination safely than providing me with a smile as they make in-flight jokes. Customer service is important, but safety should be its top priority. With that fact in mind customer service from Southwest should be at the bottom of the list.

It doesn't surprise me that Southwest Airlines ranks #1 in customer service. It is sad to see what has happened with other airlines. Delta used to be my favorite airline and I always flew them on business when I could. But it is an airline that lost its luster a long time ago. The airline industry is in serious trouble, but that is no excuse for sub-par customer service. None of the airlines I've flown on have managed their relationships with employees as well as Southwest, which reflects in how their employees treat customers. Their philosophy works. I wonder why the airlines don't get it?
