Clear sets sights on Atlanta

Passengers traveling through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International may soon be able to use Clear security lanes.

The program has been granted the right to pilot the system at the airport but is still awaiting approval from the City Council.

Ben DeCosta, General Manager at the airport, has explained that approval will be granted after discussions with the Transportation Security Administration, Delta Air Lines and AirTran Airways.

Steven Brill, Chief Executive of Clear, said: "We now look forward to the opportunity to begin meeting with Airport officials and other key stakeholders to determine how and when the pilot program the airport envisions might be launched."

There are 158,000 members of the Clear program, which is currently in use at 17 airports across the country and recorded its one millionth journey earlier this month.
