Tampa’s new 'open spaces' exhibition

Here’s a tip next time you’re flummoxed by flying: retreat into that “quiet zone” inside your head. Airport art makes it easier to do precisely that. Consider what the folks at Tampa International (PPA) have to offer just now.

Photographer David Lawrence likes open spaces. To that end, he’s brought some of his favorites and planted them in TPA’s third floor walkway, the one connecting the main terminal and the Airport Marriott.

Lawrence’s work is soothing, ranging from large-scale panoramas to detailed microphotography. Prop your roller bag against the wall, lean back and take in the colors and geometry of what Mother Nature showed him, and put that flight delay in proper perspective.

“Favorite places and open spaces” will be on display at Tampa International through June. If you’d like to know more about Lawrence, visit www.lawrenceeditions.com.
