American Airlines - more flights to Buenos Aires

American Airlines has announced plans to increase the frequency of its flights between New York and Buenos Aires.

Five additional round-trips from JFK will be added on December 18, taking the number of weekly flights between the two cities up to 12.

The airline has submitted a request to the Department of Transportation (DOT) for the increased frequency and plans to operate the additional services on each day of the week.

New flights to Buenos Aires would run on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Flights to New York from Argentina would operate on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Departures from JFK would be at 9:10pm to arrive in Buenos Aries the next day at 11:05am. From Argentina, flights would depart at 12:30am to land the same day at 8:15am. All times are local.

Chuck Imhof, American's Vice-President of Passenger Sales for Greater New York, said: "Our existing service between JFK and Buenos Aires has been very successful and well received by both our business and leisure customers.

"We're adding these new flights to meet the demand from our New York customers for additional service to Argentina."
