Delta announces NY-Buenos Aires service

Delta Air Lines has announced a new nonstop daily flight from New York to Buenos Aires, Argentina, with introductory discounts.

The flight from JFK International Airport will start on December 18 and complement the carrier's existing daily service to the city from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

To celebrate the service, tickets will be available at a discounted price of $459 one-way (excluding taxes).

The introductory discount is valid on tickets purchased by July 1 and for travel between January 5 and February 27, 2009.

Christophe Didier, Vice-President of Sales and Government Affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean at Delta, said: "Delta continues to move forward with its international expansion despite current challenges of escalating fuel costs, and today we are a strong, competitive leader in the industry.

"This new flight between New York and Buenos Aires is a tremendously important step as we add more routes and destinations throughout Central and South America and the Caribbean.''

Flights from JFK are scheduled to depart at 10pm to arrive in Buenos Aires at 12:20pm. All times are local.

Return services will depart Argentina at 10:15pm to touch down in New York at 6:25am.
