Free parking extended at Richmond Int'l
Richmond International Airport has announced changes to its parking policy.
From July 1, drivers stopping to pick up family or friends will be able to park free of charge for an hour.
Cars are currently only permitted to stop for free for 30 minutes.
Beverley W Armstrong, Chairman of the Capital Region Airport Commission, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch: "Thirty minutes was always tight to pick other people up."
She also explained that the airport will add 2,000 parking spaces by the end of 2009 as part of a plan to take the total number of slots up to 10,000.
To facilitate this, the airport will increase the fee for economy parking for the first time in ten years. Charges will rise from $6 a day to $7.
