Protest over Air Canada's Calgary flights
Residents and officials in one Canadian town have launched a campaign to encourage Air Canada to reinstate flights to Calgary.
The airline withdrew direct daily flights from Prince George-Peace River in British Columbia to the Alberta city after capacity fell to 64 percent.
Colin Kinsley, Mayor of the town, has written a letter of protest to Air Canada, gaining the backing of local people and other political figures.
He told the PG Citizen: "I think we're stuck with that decision for the time being but we're not giving up because it's just too good of a connection."
Kinsley also explained that capacity could have been improved with an early morning or late-night service that would have been used by business travelers.
