Delta drops two Mexico routes from ATL - options

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Delta Connection is dropping a couple of Mexican routes soon.

Gone, as of August 2, will be nonstop Atlanta (ATL) to Queretaro (QRO) flights. Come August 18, say so long to nonstop Atlanta to Leon/Guanajuato (BJX) service.

The high price of jet fuel is prompting the moves.

How to cope: This doesn't mean Atlanta flyers will be cut off from these cities, but they will have to connect. American Airlines flies from Atlanta to Chicago O'Hare (ORD), from where you can connect to AA partner Mexicana down to Queretaro.

If you're flying to Leon/Guanajuato, fly American to the carrier's Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) hub. From there you can connect to an American Eagle regional jet bound for BJX.

Alternately, fly Continental Airlines to Bush Houston Intercontinental (IAH), and connect onward from there to Leon/Guanajuato on a Continental Express regional jet.
