Travelers want more from Phoenix-Mesa
More than 10,000 respondents in a survey by Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport say they want additional passenger services and destinations.
Gateway officials say they will use the data in an attempt to lure additional carriers to the airport, The Arizona Republic reported.
The survey also found that the top five preferred destinations were Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver, and Honolulu.
Brian Sexton, airport spokesman, told the newspaper: "When 10,000 people are willing to give you their contact information and say, 'Here I am and I'd like this kind of passenger service,' it's significant."
Airport officials estimate that around a million people live closer to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport than to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, one of the nation's ten busiest airports in terms of arrivals and departures.
