US Airways to end Oklahoma flights

US Airways is to end its regional service from Oklahoma City to Las Vegas and Phoenix as of September 3.

Mark Kranenburg, Director of Will Rogers World Airport, said: "The high fuel prices are just making it impossible to operate from a profitable standpoint."

The airline opeates about six flights a week out of Oklahoma City, Kranenburg said.

US Airways previously announced that it will assess a $15 fee for passengers' first checked bags and will begin charging $25 for second checked bags.

The new checked bag policies apply to all flights to and from Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean, as well as flights within the U.S.
