Virgin America unveils new menu

Virgin America has unveiled an expanded on-demand menu on all flights.

The new menu options are complimentary in First Class and are available for purchase in the main cabin, for between $7 and $9.

Breakfast options include yogurt, berries, and granola. For lunch, travelers can enjoy a salad of broccoli, yellow squash, carrots, green beans, and sweet snow peas, with a light lemon parsley vinaigrette. Other options include fruit and cheese, Monterey Beef Wrap, and hummus, vegetables, and pita.

In First Class on long-haul flights, guests will have new breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including a variety of tapas.

There is also a new variety of snacks available for sale on all Virgin America's flights. Prices range between $2 and $3 for snacks such as Chex Party Mix, Pringles Original, Emerald Dry Roasted Almonds, Fiber One Oat n' Chocolate bar, Brent & Sam's Chocolate Chip Cookies, Big Snickers Bar, Peeled Snacks Organic go-Mango-go, Chiquita Apple Bites, and Chiquita Carrot Bites.

Virgin America is the only U.S. airline to offer a "food button" which allows passengers to order whatever they want to eat or drink during a flight either with a touch of the video touch-screen at every seat or through the hand-held remote control in every armrest.
