Virgin America named Travel+Leisure's best domestic airline
Mirror, mirror in the sky, what's the fairest carrier to fly? In Travel+Leisure's estimation, it's discount airline Virgin America - at least on a domestic basis. The widely respected magazine has named it “Best Domestic Airline”.
The San Francisco-based discount airline started service last year, in August 2007. CEO David Cush says the carrier was created with the concept of “providing an upscale, innovative, high-value customer experience for smart travelers to the urban destinations we serve”.
Among those destinations are San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX), Las Vegas (LAS), New York Kennedy (JFK), San Diego (SAN), and Washington Dulles (IAD).
Virgin America's A320s are fitted with an array of high-tech amenities: interactive IFE (in-flight entertainment), power outlets for laptops, and slew of other extras.
