Japan Airlines to Add More Winter Flights to Alaska
Japan Airlines (JAL) (Web site: www.jal.com) has announced that it is offering 17 more chartered winter flights to Alaska.
Dave Worrell, a spokesperson for the Alaska Travel Industry Association, told the Fort Mill Times that most of those charters will be direct flights to Fairbanks, with a few first making stops in Anchorage.
JAL started winter charter flights in 2004, and also offers them in the summer.
Last week, the carrier announced that it is increasing its fuel surcharge on October 1. AFP reported that the surcharge on North American flights would increase to $303.
