Mesaba Airlines Starts Flights from Columbia Regional Airport
Mesaba Airlines (Web site: www.mesaba.com) has started flights out of Columbia Regional Airport (Web site: www.gocolumbiamo.com), replacing services by American Airlines.
The carrier is offering customers three daily flights to Memphis, with departure times set for early morning, afternoon, and early evening.
Darwin Hindman, Mayor of Columbia, told the Chicago Tribune: "It was a business decision, and it requires that there be passengers.
"We have to support this service - it works both ways."
In June, Air Midwest (Web site: www.mesa-air.com) terminated flights from Columbia to Kansas City, citing financial difficulties.
