Southwest Airlines Cuts Flights from St. Louis
Southwest Airlines is cutting one flight a day on seven popular routes at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport starting in January.
Passengers will have one less flight time to choose from on the St. Louis to Baltimore; Chicago; Cleveland; Las Vegas; Louisville, Ky.; Phoenix and Tulsa, Okla. routes.
St. Louis isn't the only airport to say goodbye to some Southwest flights. The airline will cut back on a total of 195 flights in January. The company said these flight cuts happen yearly to reflect the normal drop-off in passenger traffic during the winter months, but that the flights are usually reinstated when flight traffic picks up again in spring.
Earlier this year, American Airlines announced it will pull 30 flights from its St. Louis schedule starting this November. Midwest Airlines will no longer fly out of Lambert starting in September.
