AirTran Switches to Terminal 6 at Los Angeles Airport

Head’s up if you’re headed out of Los Angeles International. Discount airline AirTran is changing terminals. Beginning tomorrow (Friday, September 5), flights which had operated out of Terminal 3 will arrive and depart from Terminal 6, Gate 69A to be specific.

Although not a major player at LAX, AirTran is nonetheless an important one especially for value-conscious flyers headed to or from the South. That’s because it offers nonstop service from Los Angeles to its prime hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

That puts the discount airline in head-to-head competition with Delta Air Lines on the LAX–ATL route. From ATL, AirTran offers connections to 53 destinations.
