Cape Air Ends Evansville-Indianapolis Flights

Cape Air (Web site: www.flycapeair.com) ended its services between Evansville Regional Airport (Web site: www.evvairport.com) and Indianapolis over the weekend.

The last Cape Air flight into Evansville landed at 9:30pm on Sunday (August 31). Passengers booked on flights from today's date will be offered a refund.

Airport officials told 14 News that grant money for the carrier ran out, leading to the termination of services.

The airport is trying to pull in other carriers and the opening of the new terminal in Indianapolis may help, the news provider says.

Dianna Kissel of the Evansville Regional Airport told 14 News:"We want to take advantage of that being a focus city and provide our passengers here with more alternatives for connecting flights."

Cape Air’s flights between Evansville and Indianapolis started in November 2007.
