Cleveland-Hopkins Airport Braces for Flight Cuts

Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport is getting ready for a series of route cuts starting today (Tuesday, September 2).

Continental Airlines is cutting passenger seating capacity by 13 per cent in Cleveland, and ending its nonstop service to 24 cities, The Plain Dealer reports.

As a result, the airport has postponed indefinitely the opening of a new waiting lounge with food service and a customs facility to speed processing of international travelers.

Ricky Smith, Airport Director, told the publication that Cleveland-Hopkins is trying to pull in a direct flight to London (Heathrow Airport).
