Frontier Airlines Adds First Bag Fee
Frontier Airlines has introduced a baggage charge for the first item of checked luggage.
The new $15 charge will apply from November 1 and applies to all tickets booked since September 13.
Frontier's decision follows a $25 fee introduced for a passenger's second checked bag in June.
A number of carriers have introduced new baggage fees and higher ticket prices, with many keen to recoup spending in light of increased fuel costs.
Continental Airlines was one of the last to introduce a fee, charging passengers $15 for their first checked-in bag that will apply from October 7 for Economy-Class ticket holders.
The airline also announced that it intends to cut bonus mileage earned by members of its award program from November 15.
