Power Drain? – Recharge at Newark Liberty International

Battery running low? Now, portions of all three major New York City airports are fitted with free recharge stations, perfect places to plug in your laptop, PDA, or cell phone. Joining New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Kennedy (JFK) is Newark Liberty International (EWR).

The new recharge stations are arrayed among 50 eight-and-a-half foot tall stanchions, each stanchion with four power outlets. You’ll find the power poles in Terminals A, B and C.

JFK first got the stations in 2006; LaGuardia earlier this year.

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey administers the three airports. The move to more recharge stations comes as especially good news for flyers frequenting Continental Airlines out of Newark. EWR is the carrier’s prime international gateway.
