Discount Airfare: OpenSkies Flights to Paris, Amsterdam
Here’s an instance in which speed saves. It saves money on OpenSkies PREM+ seats between New York Kennedy (JFK) and Paris Orly (ORY) as well between JFK and Amsterdam (AMS). Starting today, the first 1,000 flyers on each of OpenSkies routes gets a bodacious price break - $499, each way from JFK to AMS, and $599, each way from Kennedy to Paris Orly.
By any measure, these are extraordinarily low discount airfares considering that what you’re paying for in PREM+ is a Business-Class-like product.
Neither the $499 rate, nor the $599 price tag, includes taxes or fees. They’re extra. To qualify for this deal you’ll have to make a round-trip booking. Still, the price breaks remain rather remarkable.
OpenSkies (Web site: www.flyopenskies.com) flies Boeing 757 narrowbodies across the Atlantic. Its PREM+ cabin is fitted with seats that recline 140 degrees, offer 52 inches of legroom, and sport sophisticated personal entertainment systems. You don’t unscrew the cap on your wine in this cabin. Flight attendants pour it. The vintages go down nicely with the fresh, healthy meals OpenSkies proffers. If you’d rather work en route, each seat offers electrical outlets.
The JFK to Paris Orly service has been up and running for a while. Kennedy to Amsterdam is set to launch on October 15. Unlike the array of stand-alone airlines that have come and gone of late across the Atlantic, OpenSkies is backed by British Airways.
