Drop in Reservations on American Airlines, Delta Air Lines

American Airlines and Delta Air Lines have said that reservations for their services are dropping.

The Dallas Morning News reports that executives at both carriers told investors at a meeting yesterday (Wednesday, October 15) that passenger load will be lower in this quarter.

Tom Horton, Chief Financial Officer of American Airlines, said: "With a weakening global economy, we have seen softening demand."

Ed Bastian, Chief Financial Officer and President of Delta, added: "While near-term demand remains solid, we're keeping a very close eye on booking trends. Internationally, we're starting to see a little bit of demand softening."

He said that passenger load on international flights are two to four points lower on flights in November and December.
