Operations Will Not End at Jackson Hole Airport

Officials in Jackson and Teton County have come up with a law enforcement plan which will allow Jackson Hole Airport (Web site: www.jacksonholeairport.com) to remain open during the ski season.

The airport was threatened when Teton County Sheriff Bob Zimmer said he would revoke the badges of the airport's law enforcement officers over liability issues and other concerns.

Under the new plans, Sheriff Zimmer and Jackson Police Chief Dan Zivkovich are to provide the airport with law enforcement officers from their departments to the airport, who would fall under their authority.

Bob McLaurin, Town Manager, told the Jackson Hole News and Guide: "We made some progress in terms of how we're going to handle this problem. We intend to draft, at this point, a memorandum of understanding that is going to spell everything out."
