Virgin America’s New Main Cabin Select Fares
Discount airline Virgin America (Web site: www.virginamerica.com) has just rolled out a fare class called Main Cabin Select.
It’s a fully refundable fare, right up to the time of departure. You can transfer it too, again up to departure time. Changes or cancellations are okay, without an extra fee being levied, until departure time. If there’s a difference in fares, that difference will either be collected or refunded.
There aren’t any blackout dates, and there’s no advance purchase required. If you’re a “no show” (that means your reservation wasn’t changed or cancelled prior to departure) you get a credit good for travel on Virgin America. That credit is good for a year from the date of issue.
Business flyers, or leisure passengers whose itineraries might change suddenly, should find Main Cabin Select helpful. So far, Virgin America says you can’t reserve this fare class via its Web site. You’ll have to call the carrier’s reservations center at 1-877-359-8474, or book it via a travel agency or corporate travel manager.
