Discount Airfare: AirTran Airways’ Atlanta Sale

It has been a while since we’ve seen discount airfares this low, and to so many cities. Book and buy today (Monday, November 24), and land rates as low as $29 (no misprint) one-way, exclusive of taxes and fees. The discount airline is AirTran, and the place of departure is its prime hub: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

Travel December 3 through December 17; or January 6 through February 11, 2009. Fly on off-peak days from ATL: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.

As with all AirTran fares, these are one-way affairs. There is no need to make a round-trip purchase to get the deals. Book and buy at AirTran’s Web site (www.airtran.com), otherwise the price is $15 more when you call the carrier’s reservations line.

Here’s a sampling of the dramatically low discount airfares AirTran is offering from Atlanta:

- Akron/Canton $49

- Baltimore/Washington $39

- Boston $49

- Chicago (Midway) $49

- Dallas (Dallas/Fort Worth) $49

- Fort Lauderdale $49

- Houston (Hobby) $49

- Jacksonville $29

- Miami $49

- Minneapolis/St. Paul $49

- New Orleans $39

- New York (LaGuardia) $49

- Orlando $49

- Tampa $49

- Washington, DC (Dulles) $39

- Philadelphia $39
