From Alaska to Sunlit Maui - New Alaska Airlines Run

Alaska is an amazingly beautiful place, but if you've lived there in the late fall and dead of winter you'd know why people like to get away for a while. To that end, Alaska Airlines' new nonstop Anchorage (ANC) to Maui (OGG) nonstops.

The service took wing last week, and it operates three days per week - Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

According to Official Airline Guide (OAG) (Web site: www.oag.com), there is no other nonstop service between Alaska's largest city and Maui.

Alaska Airlines deploys a 737-800 twinjet on the long overwater route. The Hawaii-bound leg pushes back from the gate at 2:20pm, and arrives at Kahului, on the island of Maui, at 6:35pm plenty of time to check into your hotel, and take in a good meal before heading to bed. The return flight is a red-eye. It departs Kahului at 8:45pm, and is scheduled to arrive at Anchorage at 5am.

To get you in the mood and break that winter grip, Alaska is offering coach customers a complimentary Mai Tai (POG juice if you prefer) on the flight.

These nonstop Anchorage to Maui flights are seasonal. They fade into the sunset on April 25, 2009.
